Windows Mobile Device Center Fix
Has your Windows Mobile data collector stopped connecting to Windows 10? You're not alone! Ever since Microsoft released Creators Update v1703, Many people have not been able to connect.
This can easily be solved by following the steps below.
- Press the Windows Button on your Taskbar
- Type CMD (with the start menu showing)
- Right click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator
- The Command Prompt will now open
- Copy and Paste the next line into the Command Prompt and hit Enter
REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RapiMgr /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f - Now, Copy and Paste the next line into the Command Prompt and hit Enter
REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WcesComm /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f - You man now close the Command Prompt
- Right click the Windows Button on your Taskbar and select Computer Management
- The Computer Management window will now open
- In the Tree to the left, Click the Arrow next to Services and Applications and click Services
- In the list to the right, find Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity
- Right click Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity and select Stop
- Now, find Windows mobile-based device connectivity
- Right click Windows mobile-based device connectivity and select Stop
- Double click Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity to open its properties
- Click on the Log On tab
- Choose Local System account and click OK
- Double click Windows mobile-based device connectivity to open its properties
- Click on the Log On tab
- Choose Local System account and click OK
- Right Click Windows mobile-based device connectivity and select Start (Must be done before Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity)
- Right Click Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity and select start
- Close Computer Management
- Connect your Data Collector and Windows Mobile Device Center should now connect.
