Spectra Geospatial SP20 Firmware Upgrade

In this guide, we will be upgrading your Spectra Geospatial SP20 Firmware to the latest version in preparation for the upcoming GNSS Rollover Week.

 

This entire process can be preformed right on your SP20.  No PC ins necessary.

 

Files Needed

 

Equipment Needed

  • Spectra SP20 GNSS Receiver
  • Fully Charged Battery

 

Steps

  1. Power on your SP20
  2. Slide the top tray down and click the Gear Icon
    Click the gear icon
  3. Scroll down the list and select Security
    Select Security
  4. At the bottom, you will see Unknown sources.  Click to enable
    Enable unknown sources
  5. A warning message will come up. Click OK
    Click OK
  6. Press the Home button to return to the homw screen
  7. Click the App Drawer icon to bring up your installed apps
    Click the App Drawer
  8. Click the File Manager app
    Click File Manager
  9. Now click the Download folder
    Click the Download Folder
  10. Click the GNSS Loader apk that you just downloaded to install it
    Click GNSS Loader
  11. Click Install at the bottom
    Click Install
  12. Wait for the installation to finish

  13. Once it is installed, click Open
    Click Open
  14. GNSS Loader will open.  Press the Upgrade Firmware button
    Press Upgrade Firmware
  15. By default, it will take you directly to your Download Folder where the firmware will be.  Select the Firmware
    Select the Firmware
  16. Press the Arrow in the bottom right hand corner to begin the upgrade
    Press the Arrow
  17. Wait for the upgrade to finish
    Wait for the upgrade to finish
  18. Once it is complete, Press OK
    Press OK

That's all there is to it.  You SP20 is now upgraded to the latest firmware!
