Spectra Geospatial SP80 Firmware Upgrade

In this guide, we will be upgrading your Spectra Geospatial SP80 Firmware to the latest version to fix the current GLONASS issues.

 

Files Needed

 

Equipment Needed

  • Spectra SP80 GNSS Receiver
  • Fully Charged Battery
  • SD Card

Steps

  1. Copy the firmware to the SD card
  2. Pull the tab to open the Side Cover
    Open the Side Cover
  3. Insert your SD Card into the slot
    Insert your SD Card
  4. Power on the unit into Upgrade Mode by pressing and holding the Power Button and the Scroll Button
    Press and hold the Power Button and the Scroll Button
  5. The unit will now enter Upgrade Mode and begin upgrading the firmware. The process should take about 10 minutes. It will reboot multiple times before it finishes
    DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT OR REMOVE THE SD CARD FOR ANY REASON DURING THE UPGRADE PROCESS!!! 
  6. Once the upgrade is complete, you will be returned to the default screen
    Your screen may vary
  7. Now power down the receiver and remove the memory card

 

 That's all there is to it.  You SP80 is now upgraded to the latest firmware!
